Snow Canyon State Park – Hiking and Camping

Snow Canyon State Park – Hiking and Camping

Snow Canyon State Park (Official Site) is a few minutes outside of St. George, UT, and offers either a short drive through some impressive red sandstone formations, or a number of hikes. There is also a small area of red sand dunes close to the road that kids would enjoy exploring. It does get hot in this area in the summer, so I’d recommend this park for cooler times of year.  It has a campground, and is one of the state parks where the campground has showers.

Overall, it is worth stopping in to see this park if you are passing by St. George. And if you live locally, it has enough hiking to keep you busy exploring it for a while.

How To Get To Snow Canyon State Park

From St. George, Take Red Hill Parkway west until it becomes Snow Canyon Parkway – Take that for about 8 miles, and you’ll see signs for the park telling you to turn onto Snow Canyon drive — follow that road into the canyon, and you’ll find parking spots along the road all through the canyon.
